Cathy Freeman Foundation

Welcome to the Cathy Freeman Foundation Melbourne Marathon Festival Fundraising Page

The Cathy Freeman Foundation was established in 2007 and helps Indigenous children experience their potential in school, and beyond. The Cathy Freeman Foundation partners with remote Indigenous communities and schools to help build education pathways that work.

The Foundation works with 1600 school-aged children and their families in four remote Indigenous communities including Palm Island & Woorabinda in Queensland and Wurrumiyanga & Galiwin’ku in the Northern Territory.

The Cathy Freeman Foundation’s five education programs are designed to help meet its mission for an Australian where Indigenous and non-Indigenous children have the same educational standards and opportunities in life.

The Cathy Freeman Foundation is excited to be an Associate Charity of the Melbourne Marathon again in 2017. You don’t have to be an Olympic runner to join our team! If you can walk or run, and you like the idea of supporting Indigenous children on their education journey, then we want you on our team.

Why join Team Freeman?

  • You will have the chance to run with Olympic running champion, Cathy Freeman and friends;
  • You are immediately invited to the Cathy Freeman Foundation marquee before and after the event which features bag storage, beverages, light snacks, Indigenous entertainment and massage;
  • Upon successfully fundraising $100, you will receive an exclusive Team Freeman Running Pack including a limited edition Team Freeman running shirt or singlet, Cathy Freeman Foundation zip-up sweatband and drawstring bag; and
  • A unique opportunity to meet other like-minded people.

So, if you would like the Foundation’s programs to help Indigenous children to realise their own gold medal journey, join Team Freeman today.
