Story

I'm taking part in the 2017 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for Ladder. Here's a bit about them so you know why any contribution you make would be a worthwhile contribution.

Ladder is an independent not-for-profit organisation established in 2007 to help young people aged 16 - 25 break the cycle of homelessness. Ladder gives young people the tools to take control of their lives, transition to independence and achieve their potential.

Ladder was established by a group of AFL players in 2007 in a bid to empower young people to break the cycle of homelessness. Ladder is the Official Charity of AFL Players and a national partner of the AFL. Ladder programs cover four key areas; health and wellbeing, personal skill development, education and employment opportunities and mentoring.

Ladder currently operates in Broadmeadows, Glen Waverley, Geelong, Bendigo, Warrnambool, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney.

Any donation large or small will make a real and lasting impact on the lives of the young people Ladder works with.

$27.00 provides a young person with one day of support.

$50.00 covers the cost of a group nutrition session.

$77.00 covers the costs associated with a Ladder mentoring session.

$270.00 can assist with covering the cost of planning sessions with five young people.

The Ladder Project Foundation

The Ladder Project Foundation (Ladder) is an independent not-for-profit organisation born out of the Australian Football League (AFL) industry. We are the official charity of the AFL Players’ Association and a charity partner of the AFL.
We level the playing field for young people to thrive. This mission is at the heart of everything Ladder does.
Ladder delivers tailored, holistic development and mentoring programs to help young people in need across Australia. We build critical skills, self-belief and meaningful opportunities for young people to create the future they deserve.
Ladder specialises in addressing youth disengagement and disadvantage. We tackle this national problem by working with local communities to design and implement local solutions. We deliver a tailored prevention and intervention model which can be scaled and taken to many different communities, whilst still being responsive to specific needs in each local context.
