Jason Dang
Story
It has been estimated that each year, a total of 239,000 woman and 1.11 million men are diagnosed with ovarian and prostate cancers respectively.
JaAm (that’s Jason and Liam) are trying to make a difference by taking part in the 2017 Melbourne Marathon this October. That’s a whole 42.2 kms! The physical and mental test of this is nothing compared to what those who have been diagnosed or what their loved ones have to go through.
We like so many know firsthand how cancer effect family members. Let's come together and celebrate what it feels like being firsthand at helping fund research, treatment and a cure. This is our chance to help awareness and bring those numbers down.
Please donate generously and in under 3 minutes, you will become part of team JaAm. We will keep you posted as our training progresses and good thoughts will be returned unconditionally. The long nights and chilly mornings have already begun.
A split donation will be made to the organisations that we are supporting below:
Ovarian Cancer Australia - https://ovariancancer.net.au/
Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia - http://www.prostate.org.au/
Thank you for your support.

Ovarian Cancer Australia and The Trustee for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Split Donation
The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is the national body for prostate cancer in Australia. The PCFA plays a vital role in the fight against prostate cancer and devotes all of it resources towards reducing the impact of prostate cancer on the community.PCFA receives less than 1% of its income from government funding and therefore relies on corporations and individuals to fund these vital programs. The PCFA is dedicated to: * Funding research into prostate cancer. * Growing our network of 80+ support groups nationally and supporting the men and their families affected by prostate cancer. * Raising awareness about prostate cancer through ongoing publicity, campaigns and events. * And avocating for support from both state and federal governments.
Ovarian Cancer Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation providing support and advocacy for people affected by ovarian cancer, and is the peak body for ovarian cancer awareness and prevention. Our programs are focused in these important areas:
Promoting awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms in the community - giving Australian women and their healthcare providers a better understanding of the early signs of ovarian cancer
Providing support networks and resources to women and their families and friends affected by ovarian cancer
Advocating with medical professionals, government and the media for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer
Each year in February we run a national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month of events, media campaigns and community activities to highlight the symptoms of ovarian cancer and to promote our programs.
