Story
I'm taking part in the 2017 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for a community centre in Africa (through Spur Afrika). Well, I was going to! Then I tore a ligament in my ankle! So, this October, my awesome big sis, Jenny, is going to be sweating it out and doing her best to complete a gruelling course through the streets of Melbourne and ending back at the world famous 'G! Pretty impressive for a gal who just gave birth to her 3rd bub!
Spur Afrika endeavours to empower the youth living in Kibera Slums, Kenya. By providing for their physical and educational needs, they hope to help these kids reach their full potential in a way they never would have been able to without your support.
The other awesome thing is Spur Afrika is run by committed people in Melbourne and Kenya. All your financial support will go straight to the community centre which will give these youths a safe place to learn and grow. Join us in making a difference :)

Spur Afrika is a not-for-profit organisation that joins communities across Australia and Kenya who work to provide education, health and life skills for children and youth living in the poverty-stricken Kibera slums.
We ENGAGE the local community through authentic mentorship, culturally sensitive initiatives and sustainable programs.
We EMPOWER children and young adults with skills to transform not only their own lives but the lives of their families and communities.
We EDUCATE through the provision of schooling, extra-curricular activities, and public health programs.
